News from Visitation Province

JPIC (Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation) Core Committee Meeting (ZOOM) was held Monday, May 30.

Members made plans to interview applicants for the coordinator’s position. Interviews will be held during the first week of June.

35 people registered to take part in discussions on Listening to Indigenous Voices. Invitations to discussion facilitators will be forthcoming and those who accept will meet in early June. All persons who registered have been contacted and invited to gather later in June. We hope by organizing now we will be ready to begin the study in September.

We continue to work towards being designated a Blue Community. A Zoom meeting will be offered to Sisters and Associates in our Province, with Paul Barnes and Sister Agnes Karges, CSJ, sharing information on becoming a Blue Community.

Back From The Border

During our time at the border in Mexico and Arizona, we truly felt the support of your prayers. We carried you in our hearts each day as we walked in the way of Visitation at the migrant center and attended the cross vigils and the cross planting. The men and women who visited the center received the bounty of your generous contributions. We wish you could have seen the smiles on their faces when they received a new t-shirt or pair of socks. On May 25, we returned home safely. Our hearts are filled with great joy and gratitude for you, our Sisters, Associates, and Candidates, and for your love, support and prayers!
