Celebrating the Year of Consecrated Life

The Year of Consecrated Life begins the weekend of November 29-30. In the USA, that’s Thanksgiving Weekend and for the Church, the First Sunday of Advent.

All over the world the Church will gather for the three-pronged focus of this year:

  • Renewal for men and women in consecrated life,
  • Thanksgiving among the faithful for the service of sisters, brothers, priests and nuns,
  • Invitation to young Catholics to consider a religious vocation.

Let us join with Pope Francis on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in an Opening Prayer Vigil.

On Sunday, November 30, 2014, we can join with our individual Diocese’s Opening Mass and invite our lay friends to join us.Check your diocesan websites for the place and time.

Andrews of Charlottetown becomes better acquainted with Marguerite

Andrews of Charlottetown becomes better acquainted with Marguerite Bourgeoys: The statue of Marguerite Bourgeoys behind the nurses’ station has been arousing the staff’s interest. Our presence at Andrews had some residents curious about our community’s beginnings. On October 14, Sister Della Gaudet made Marguerite Bourgeoys come alive with an interesting and enlightening presentation on our foundress and our community’s history. Our efficient technician, Sister Noreen Hickey, provided an enriching visual accompaniment with a PowerPoint presentation. Sisters, staff and residents present appreciated this event. Thank you, Della and Noreen!
