Ring the bells!

If you hear the church bells of the Rimouski and Gatineau, Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Montreal (Saint-Jean-Baptiste Parish), Sherbrooke (Basilique-Cathédrale Saint-Michel) and Saint-Jean-Longueuil dioceses ring on March 19, it is in support of the Global Climate March! We, committed women and sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame, commend this initiative to “ring the bells” on the day of the March to actively encourage the participating groups, respond to the call of Laudato Si’ and honour our own commitment to protect the environment. We welcome all the support for this cause that affects each and every one of us.

Action To Care For Our Common Home

Visitation Province participated in the March 11th Faiths4Climate action. Thousands of faith groups from around the world took real and virtual action and it was fantastic that we were part of it. It was very inspirational to scroll the sacred people sacred earth Facebook page and see what was happening. One of the great slogans there was “killing the planet is against my religion.”

4th Sunday of Lent

Thursday of this week, we reached mid-Lent. Liturgically, we often refer to this Fourth Sunday as Laetare Sunday from the latin icipit of the entrance antiphon. Today, the Church allows rose vestments to signify a change from the penitential purple. Like its cousin, Gaudete Sunday, on the third Sunday in Advent, we are once again, even in the middle of Lent, being invited in the entrance antiphon to rejoice and be joyful.
