Feast of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys January 12, 2021

The Halifax Sisters and Associates came together in our own homes to celebrate St. Marguerite’s Feast this year. It was different in that previous years we celebrated with parishioners from St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish.  In spite of our reality, we were grateful that many of us in Halifax were able to come together on Zoom thanks to Sister Connie.

Ignatian Spirituality Project, Walking each other Home

There is a popular saying we hear today that “on the journey of life we are all just walking each other home.” One of the great privileges in my life is walking with women and men on the margins of society with the Ignatian Spirituality Project: A ministry with people who have experienced some form of homelessness in their lives, whether that is living rough on the streets, being lost in addiction, having no significant connections with family and community or having lost a sense of self and place in the world.

West Kootenay Associates celebrate Marguerite Bourgeoys

One big highlight in the life of West Kootenay Associates is our annual celebration of Marguerite Bourgeoys on her Feast Day. When we gather on her feast, you can sense the elevated feelings of joy among us, especially as we enter prayer and song, and then afterwards a delicious pot luck meal. This year, with the restrictions, it was different, and there were a few twists but still how wonderful that Zoom permitted us to be together, we could see one another and speak to each other and it was with great joy that we shared a beautiful prayer service we found on the cnd-m.org website (created for Feast Day 2019).
