Associate co-coordinator position change

Visitation East Province Associates

Sr. Phyllis will finish her ministry as the associate co-coordinator at the end of June. Sr. Phyllis has had this role for 6 years. We thank her for her great service and the support that she has given to the associates and sisters in the Maritimes. Marjorie Allison-Ross of Woodstock, NB, will take on this role effective August 1, 2014. When asked to provide a bit of information for the Newsletter, here is what Marjorie had to say:

“In 1991, my husband Ray and I were invited by Sr. Cécile Buote to become associates and we readily said “YES.” Ray’s mother Helen had already joined the Associate Relationship in 1987.

I loved reading and learning about the life of Marguerite Bourgeoys, the work that she did to found the Congregation de Notre Dame and her involvement in the establishment of Montreal. She was a woman ahead of her time. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to represent associates of the former St. Joseph Province East (Maritimes) on the St. Joseph East Committee and the Central Committee in Montreal as well as attending a General Conference in Antigonish in 1999 and other Associate Gatherings in the Maritimes. In 2011, I was invited to participate in the development of the “Guide for Initial Formation.” I believe that these experiences will assist me in this new role. I look forward to working with Winnie as co-coordinator of the Associate Relationship for Visitation East and visiting with the associates in the Maritimes. I want to thank the Congregation for this wonderful opportunity.”
