Spring Visitations in Miramichi

The Miramichi Associates

On May 19th the Congregation of Notre Dame Associates of Miramichi welcomed Sister Phyllis and Winnie Odo to our meeting room at St. Mary’s Church in Newcastle. Sr. Phyllis led us in an inspiring candle prayer service which was very meaningful being her last one with us as she finishes her term as area co-coordinator. The group presented her with a personalized gift and two prayer shawls: one for herself and one for her niece Amanda who is suffering the effects of cancer. The prayer shawl ministry flourishes in our parish due in many ways to the efforts of four of our associates and other ladies of the parish who have made hundreds of shawls that have spread across our parish, province, country and beyond. We are happy to have presented Sr. Phyllis with this symbol of our all-Encompassing, all healing Loving God who gathers us all in a warm embrace. A big thank you to Sister Phyllis and Winnie for taking time to come to Miramichi for a very enjoyable and welcome visit on a busy holiday weekend.
