Submitted by Dianne MacAskill

The monthly Associate meeting of St. Theresa's & Holy Angels group took place on January 21 at the home of associate Dianne MacAskill. Sr. Theresa Sampson opened the meeting with Contemplative Prayer, followed by the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Prayer Service. A statue, cross, lighted candle and words representing Marguerite (love, servant, imitate Mary, joy, woman or man of action, compassion, welcome and hospitality, daring and passion) were all placed on the table. All associates participated, reading the history and devotion of St. Marguerite and a prayer that we might grow in her attributes. Other topics such as, Area Gatherings regarding the Province Chapter; living our General Chapter 2016-2021 Orientation, and “Give it Up for the Earth”. Associate Theresa MacNeil has ordered postcards for our associates to pledge their commitment in this campaign. The meeting was followed by a light lunch and a plan to meet again. Our group welcomed our journeying candidate Mary Jo to the meeting.

Woodstock associates celebrate Marguerite’s Feast

Submitted by Marjorie Allison-Ross

Some of the Woodstock associates gathered for morning Mass on January 12th to celebrate the Feast of St. Marguerite. Then we shared the Prayer Service that had been prepared by Blessed Sacrament Associate Coordinators. The readings and the words sparked lots of great discussion. It was expressed that Marguerite was a woman of action and compassion and is a good model for people today. We took a selfie in front of the Prayer Centre. The group also had an exhibit of Marguerite, CND and Associate Relationship in St Gertrude’s Church during the month of January.

Summerside Associates

Submitted by Sr. Marie L. Arsenault

January 12, the feast of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys is always a day of gratitude and celebration. Together sisters and CND Associates in Summerside attended the Parish mass presided by the Pastor Fr. Chris Sherren. We appreciated his reflection on Marguerite's inspiration to follow in the footsteps of Mary for the foundation of her Congregation as a non cloistered community. He referred to Sr. Pat Simpson's book for his information. After Eucharist we gathered at the Centre for refreshment and friendship. At noon Sisters Frances, Joan Marie and Marie happily went to Andrews in Charlottetown to celebrate with the other PEI Sisters and to enjoy a delicious steak dinner.

Truro Associates Celebrate Marguerite’s Feast

Submitted by Trudy Cox

The Truro Associates gathered on the eve of St. Marguerite's Feast Day for a special Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 7 p.m. Our pastor Fr. Darius and Fr. Christinel, our newly arrived assistant priest from Romania, concelebrated the Mass. Anna Rowley gave a wonderful over-view of Marguerite's faith journey and the CND from the early beginnings to the present day. Robie Barrett did the first reading and Trudy Cox the psalm. Ron and Ann who have a long history of music ministry in our parish led us in the singing of Marguerite's traditional hymns. Joan led the intercessory prayers. We all gathered at Anna's after Mass for fellowship and of course a beautiful lunch. Attached are a few pictures taken at the church of our Marguerite display and random pictures of some Associates. You can get a wee glimpse of our new sanctuary completed just prior to Christmas for the 40th Anniversary of opening of our new Church. I have also included a Christmas picture of our new sanctuary.

Happy Feast Day!

Let us give thanks to God and Marguerite for the many blessings we receive as Associates and Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame. Always a good time to reflect on our relationship with and the influence of Marguerite Bourgeoys in our lives!

Some of us celebrated with the parishioners of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish on June 9th the Feast of their Patron Saint. It was the beginning of their Religious Education Program so many children Grades 1-6, and parents were present. I was asked to speak about Marguerite and after a brief introduction we showed the video that Notre Dame High School students in Toronto put together last year for January 12th. It appeared to be very much appreciated as parents were asking how to find it on line. One mother said she would like to watch it again at home with her son and daughter who were not there. A table was set up with lots of books and articles for the children to take home. A light lunch was provided after the Eucharist with opportunity for sharing .

Peace as we continue our journey in the spirit of St. Marguerite.

New Victoria Associates Gather to Celebrate

Submitted by Winnie Odo

On January 16, 2018 the New Victoria Associate Group met at the home of Gerald and Winnie to celebrate Marguerite’s Feast Day. We choose to use the prayer service offered to us by Blessed Sacrament Province, it was lovely and lent itself to much discussion about the life and legacy passed on to us by our dear Foundress Marguerite Bourgeoys. Marguerite Berger offered a prayer of thanks as we enjoyed a time of refreshment and fellowship reminding us of just how fortunate we are to be part of this beautiful movement of Associate Relation-ship. Mixed in with the joy of being together for the New Year, we were saddened that our Associate Brenda MacPherson could not be with us.
