Echoes from Chapter 2016

“Rooted in Jesus Christ, let us cultivate love and compassion”

Morning contemplative prayer included individual requests from several delegates for prayer. All were united in prayers of petition. Each morning the facilitator focuses the delegates on the tasks of the day.

The Chapter moves now into its third phase: development of future directions/orientations.

The phase begins with each province/region/associates’ creative response to the letters that had been written in preparation for Chapter, a process in which all sisters and associates took part. These presentations would help the delegates to direct their attention to the question: Where is God calling the CND in the future. Why?

While the presentations were quite varied and unique, it was clear in the end that there is a great deal of similarity throughout the Congregation in searching for answers to the question posed at the beginning of the morning regarding God’s call to the CND in the future.

The rest of the day was spent in personal prayer, reflection, and table conversations about what topics the delegates see as emerging directions.
