"Let us pray...,” three words familiar to Christians the world over; three words which call us from our daily endeavors, and into communion, into communication, with God.

How are we to understand prayer in light of the ‘new story?’

How does this affect prayer?

Do we pray expecting an answer, an intercession, a healing?

Do we still come to God with contrite hearts, hoping for forgiveness?

Our understanding of the nature of reality has changed drastically in the last century. Quantum physics and life sciences confirm the interconnectedness of all things. Can we discover / recover a way of praying which preserves intent without expectation of fulfillment by “God out there”?
