Japan: Catholic Faith in the Land of the Rising Sun
The CND presence in Japan dates from 1932 when five Canadian Sisters first went to Fukushima City.
Since then, Sisters and Associates in Japan have been actively pursuing our mission of Liberating Education. The Congregation is present in Fukushima, Tokyo (Chofu) and Kitakyushu (Tobata).
Sisters are very much involved in schools and education. In fact, CND Schools are widely renowned in this country where Catholics do not exceed 3% of the global population.
Our schools:
- Meiji Gakuen
- Sakura no Seibo
- Elementary School and Kindergarten
- High School
