In the Footsteps of Marguerite Bourgeoys in France

The city of Troyes holds special significance for the sisters and associates of the Congregation of Notre Dame because it is the place where, on April 17, 1620, their foundress was born.

Following the canonization of Marguerite Bourgeoys on October 31, 1981 by Pope John Paul II, the sisters accepted an invitation from the bishop of Troyes to settle in the diocese and establish a pastoral mission. They were present there from 1981 to 2020.

Today, the associates of the Congregation of Notre Dame continue to work in the diocese of Troyes and to keep alive the charism of Marguerite Bourgeoys.
