Atlantic Canada celebrates the Year for Consecrated Life

Susan Kidd, CND

Atlantic Canada celebrates the Year for Consecrated Life with speakers, a DVD from Halifax/Yarmouth diocese, and a current Facebook page.

(1) If you are on Facebook and have not “liked” our page yet, please check us out and “like” us.

(2) The page reflects some of the activities hosted by Religious in Atlantic Canada.

And now we are trying something new … “A day in the life” is more than a Beatles song. It is social media tool that highlights people and events. Let’s mark the Year for Consecrated Life by using “A day in religious life.” How can you help?

Do you use Facebook? On Wednesday, September 30, take a picture of yourself (a selfie!) and post it on Facebook using #DayinReligiousLife to highlight it. The picture can be at breakfast, praying, in the car, shopping, visiting, working, going to appointments … whatever you may be doing that day.

(2) If you do not use Facebook, you could have a friend take your picture and post it for you. Another option is to take a picture, send it to me and I’ll post it for you. And if September 30 is not suitable for you, take the picture ahead of time, send it to me and it will be posted for you on that day.

No matter where you are in Visitation province, let’s use this social media tool to promote our presence and our activities among various people and places.
