A message from the Premier’s Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention

Marie-Norma Gallant, CND

This year, Family Violence Prevention Week [February 8-14] celebrates the value of healthy relationships with family, friends and neighbours. We start the week with a Lunch and Learn in Charlottetown; there is a Silent Walk on Wednesday; schools have special creative days on the theme Healthy Relationships etc.

There are a number of activities taking place across Prince Edward Island to celebrate healthy relationships and promote family violence awareness. Don’t miss the inspiring video launching the Week and the full listing of campaign activities at www.stopfamilyviolence.pe.ca/2015campaign

The online Schedule of events is also posted here.

On Wednesday, February 11th, Islanders are asked to Wear Purple to remember victims of violence and their families, and to take a stand to stop violence. See www.stopfamilyviolence.pe.ca

for a list of resources and to learn more about what you can do to help.

For those on Twitter, show your support #FVPWeekPEI #stopfamilyviolence

Everyone has a role to play to prevent and respond to abuse in our community!
