Maria Province

Notre Dame de Bon Secours, Pray for us.

As we approach the end of autumn and the month of remembering the souls of the deceased, we recall the memory of our sisters who died this year and their families. Also it is the season of reflecting back on this year.

Associates

A meeting of the Associates’ Committee will be held on November 24 at Sensui cho convent. As our membership ages we feel the need to deepen our spirituality related to our activities. We are committed to returning to the true CND identity of Associates which includes more conversation among the associates themselves. Please pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit during this meeting.

Building and Construction at Chofu Convent

The work is proceeding well and here I will only translate the request for your prayers to keep the Kindergarten children, their parents, the on-site workers and the sisters safe from harm.

Congratulations to the Four Sisters Celebrating their Diamond Jubilee

This celebration took place at Hanazono cho convent on October 29th as we celebrated Sisters Hinako Imaizumi, Maureen Lamarche and Yoshiko Uetani.

The main celebrant was the newly ordained Bishop Mario Yamanouchi, concelebrated with Father Jerzy Widomski, OP and Fr. Nosal Waclaw, SDB. After the Mass we enjoyed the party held in celebration of the well-known deep spirituality of the three sisters as they shared their unique journeys. The festivities also included congratulations to Bishop Yamanouchi who has been a good friend to us over many years. He entertained us with his guitar and singing as well as giving us lots of hints as to how we can become even more “Daughters of the Parish”.

As for Sister Kishiwada’s celebration, it was held beforehand on October 19 at Palais Luce with Mass, celebrated by our pastor, Father Aimé Bolduc, followed by a small tea party with many sisters participating. These were days of celebrating the blessings of Consecrated Life on all of us.

Retreat for Vocation Promotion at Chofu Convent

Five young women participated in this “Experience of Prayer Retreat” which was held at the Chofu Provincialate on October 27th and 28th. Many kinds of prayer experiences were introduced and the Chofu evening fireworks also affected the experience. Sisters Setsuko Kasahara and Masayo Saito accompanied the participants in prayer and a pleasant mealtime was experienced as well, thanks to the cooperation of Sisters Hiroko Tojo and Sister Shizuko Endo. We hope to continue this event on a monthly basis.

Sister Sandra Margarita’s Schedule Change

Sister will leave Fukushima on November 21 in order to experience the children of Margarita Kindergarten in Chofu. Sister’s days have been full and blessed in many ways. We pray that this experience in Maria Province will continue to produce fruit in her life and those she serves.

Golden Jubilee Celebration

Sisters Reiko Yasuda and Noriko Atami will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30th 2019 at Hanazono cho convent. Sendai Diocese Bishop Tetsuo Hiraga will be the main celebrant at this Mass.
