The First Visitation Province Associate Assembly

Visitation Province

The First Visitation Province Associate Assembly, “On Fire for Mission”, saw 63 associates and sisters gather at the mother house in late May. The assembly began with a very beautiful and moving opening ritual. One could feel the love for St. Marguerite Borugeoys and the strong desire for carrying out the mission. Sisters Ona Bessette and Josephine Badali led the assembly through a process in which hearts were inflamed. The participants were also blessed to be able to celebrate a beautiful Eucharist at Bon Secours to renew their commitment and vows as associates and sisters, respectively.

Core Values for living out the CND Orientation emerged from the Assembly.

From a Spirit-led Compassionate Heart, we, CND Associates of Visitation Province, commit to:

  • Honour the Sacredness of all creation
  • Unity in diversity
  • Be flexible and open to change
  • Act with courage and boldness

‘How then shall we live today?’

It was a joy to have witnessed and experienced such a spirit-filled assembly. St. Marguerite must have been beaming!  Heartfelt thanks and congratulations to associate co-coordinators for their vision and creative energy. How fitting that the group gathered on the Feast of Pentecost as the Spirit was indeed present!

Following the Assembly, the co-coordinators, “the soon to be co-coordinators” and Maureen Mac Isaac, CND, Province Leadership Team liaison met for their biannual meeting. It was a delight to be together and to get to know one another better. Adèle Mercier and Christine Holland from the Central Office joined the group for part of the meeting. Another presenter was Monica Lambton from JPIC. The three day meeting was very fruitful in all that was accomplished and in building relationships among all gathered.

It was Sister Nancy Hurren’s last meeting as co-coordinator. Nancy officially finishes her term on August 1, 2018. Visitation Province associates and sisters are grateful to Nancy for her generosity in sharing her gifts and for the love she has for Associate Relationship. We know that although Nancy will not be physically present, she will be present in spirit!
