Blessed Sacrament Province

After consultation with Peggy Doyle, who has served as Director of Vocation Promotion for the last 10 years, we have appointed Ann Marie Strileckis as Coordinator of Vocation Ministry. Ann Marie will be working on forming a team to work with her, and one of her main tasks will be to encourage all of us to participate in various ways. We are very grateful for her willingness to assume this critical ministry in addition to her work as pastoral associate at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, and we thank Peggy for her many years of service and her willingness to continue this ministry in another capacity.

A Future Experience of Interculturality: In response to a request from Maria province, we are happy to welcome Sister Motoko Takahashi to Blessed Sacrament province from April 2018 to March 2019. She will join the St. Jean’s community and will be studying English in New York City. We thank the sisters at St. Jean’s for their gracious hospitality.

Other Interesting News From Around The Province

Marguerite Bourgeoys' Visit: On Sunday, Mary Anne Foley, CND came to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford for our Mass of Remembrance. My sister, Marg, had prepared chili, mac and cheese and corn bread that we feasted on! After eating, the Karen girls tried on some costumes that Sister Margaret Mary (dressed in habit with a huge cross) had supplied!!! It was after dinner that Marguerite Bourgeoys appeared and we were able to ask her about her early life in both Troyes and Ville Marie and how she knew of her vocation. It was truly inspiring for all of us to hear it from Marguerite herself!! Contact Mary Anne Foley if you desire a visit from Marguerite Bourgeoys! The price was right!!
