Continuing our General Chapter Reflections

Karen Kelly, CND

Continuing our General Chapter Reflections, each province and region (administrative entities of the Congregation of Notre Dame) prepared a “creative presentation” to show where each felt God was calling the Congregation into the future. These presentations were to be approximately 10 minutes in length and were to come from the province or region’s reflections on the 17 letters from the sisters and associates that we received and shared on in the year leading up to the Chapter. Our associates also did a similar presentation although their challenge was much greater than ours as they had to prepare theirs working across all languages and great distance! All seven of these presentations happened over the course of a morning and were live-streamed for those at home to watch. If you did not see them, it is not too late – archived versions are available at and and

Visitation Province’s presentation was definitely creative and colourful. It included using the alphabet song where the letters of the alphabet were words taken from the 12 letters and the following shared reflections. We also had images on a PowerPoint matching each word. We went through the song twice but it was pretty fast so here are the words we used so you can have a closer look:

means that we are awakening and we’re building bridges C we contemplate our rich Diversity in an Environment of Faithfulness. G is for gratitude H is for hopefulness and interculturality. J is for justice K for Khutzpah and L is for liberating. M we’re in middle space we are networking and O means openness P we’re prophetic and Q we are questioning in Radical Risk taking. S such simplicity T for transformation U for the universe V we are vocal and W we are so welcoming. We have X-Ray vision Y we are the yeast of earth and for the zig and zag. It’s wonderful to do our CND alphabet with you and tell you how we see the new way.
