Charlotte Lockhart, CND

On Saturday, November 8, in Saint John, NB, D&P members from Fredericton, Miramichi and Saint John regions gathered in Saint John for a Fall meeting. After a warm welcome and an opening prayer led by Sandra Barrett, scic, we were greeted by Donna LeBlanc, regional chairperson of D&P. Our agenda included an explanation of the Fall Campaign, Sow Much Love, presented by Tara Hurford, the Youth Coordinator for this area. (See Bishop Robert Harris gave us words of encouragement, reminding us that we are fulfilling a great need in our Church. Mary Hanson from Woodstock, NB spoke of her summer travel to the Philippines with other members of D&P. Their "exposure trip" allowed them to observe the work that our organization has accomplished in helping people of this area. To hear Mary describe her experiences was encouraging for us to know how much D&P is appreciated and the many ways in which help is given, from a theater group (culture) to farmers and food.
