At the Movies: "Revolution"

The movie Revolution is a prize-winning documentary by Rob Stewart, a Canadian photographer and filmmaker. It's about the increasing acidity of our oceans (due to continuing carbon dioxide emissions in the world) and the effects on marine life, and all life. It highlights the efforts made, mostly by children and by young people, to save the Earth and its species. Absolutely beautiful! And stirring. It's a meditation - on life. And a reflection of the imagination of our Creator-God! The film has received awards from film festivals in Atlantic Canada, Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto and Santa Barbara. It does not make our country look good, but is gives great hope for the future because of the efforts of young people.

The Croods is an animated comedy adventure imagining the last of the "cavemen families," in a fast-changing world. The protective Dad resists change (new is always bad), promotes safety through fear (never not be afraid) and trusts in their familiar cave. His daughter seeks to live rather than just not die, and she meets someone (further evolved) who leads the whole family to see things they didn't see before. For anyone who likes cartoons, with meaning, this has some good lines.
