Marywood's Celebration of Memories and Thanksgiving!

On the evening of January 12th, Sisters Nancy Hurren, Nina Glinski, CND, associates and over 200 people from Cranbrook and beyond gathered for a special celebration to remember and give thanks for the 32 years of loving CND presence and service here in the East Kootenays. There have been 14 sisters who have served here and each was mentioned by name during a creative recounting of the history of this mission, first foundation in the Nelson diocese and of Marywood Retreat Center.

We celebrated "inclusivity" that night as many persons gratefully shared their experiences of our CND ministry among them. Our new Cranbrook mayor offered appreciation for the dedication and spiritual guidance of the sisters through the years. It was a "bitter‐sweet" occasion as all present were aware that it was a "letting go" time and a time to trust that new possibilities and dreams will emerge out of the seeds that have been scattered, planted and tended through the years. Marguerite's spirit remains here in the hearts and lives of our many associates and the people who have grown to know and love her dearly.

We closed the evening singing joyously, "Christ is our sunlight, lifting and leading our way!"

With thanks,
Nina Glinski, CND and Nancy Hurren, CND
