ATRI – Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutes in Canada

Visitation Province

Catherine Walker and Connie MacIsaac attended the 29th Annual ATRI conference held in Saskatoon along with Donna McInnis and Sandra Robert from the Business Office. The theme of this year’s conference was “Let the River Flow.”

Lynn Levo, CSJ was the keynote speaker. She left us with many tidbits for reflection including:

  • We are living in an extraordinary time of change.
  • It is important to name the reality honestly.
  • Endings are also marked with the potential for new beginnings. Don’t miss out!
  • We are called to embrace what comes towards us from the future with discernment and creativity.
  • It’s not about surviving. It’s about living!
  • Evolutionary consciousness is about seeing possibilities that we need to embrace. We are called to greater wholeness, oneness, and creativity … and challenged to re-pattern our institutions for cooperation and co-creativity.
  • Hope matters – don’t give up!

Several workshops were offered by a variety of experts. Some of the topics were: Preparing For and Surviving a CRA Audit, Risk Buckets – Managing Investment Risk, Internet Security, Advance Directives, Proxies and the Canadian Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia Debate, Essential Tax & Charity Law Update, Responsible Investing, etc.

Members of the Visitation Province Administration Team are fortunate and grateful to have access to such an informative and meaningful resource.
