PROJECT APPALACHIA TRUCK PACKING

CND

On Saturday, December 4, the Associates affiliated with the Benedictine Grange in Redding, CT are sending a tandem tractor trailer (two 28 ft. containers) to the coal mining community of St. Charles, Virginia (and the outlying hollows).

Help is needed in packing the truck with donated furniture, boxes of clothing, household goods and toys. No heavy lifting is required. Please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing. The truck will be packed rain or shine. “Coffee and” and lunch will be provided.

Gently used goods may be donated on the day of packing. Please put items in sealed, marked boxes that are ready to be put on the truck. Please consider bringing a wrapped toy (nothing using batteries) labeled “boy”, “girl” or ‘both” and the age. Santa’s Toys will be sent on the truck.

We hope you can join Project Appalachia and experience Simplicity for Mission in action!

Where: St. Thomas Aquinas (church basement) 1719 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824

When: Saturday, December 4 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. (latest) come for an hour or two…or for entire time.
